Breaking open a brand new mascara and feeling the first plunge of the wand into the tube is one of my favourite things. Crazy I know, but I love the first time with a new mascara. I always wonder what it will do to my lashes and there’s the potential that it will become a staple in my makeup routine. You never know how the first coat will go but it’s an exciting thing for beauty addicts like myself.
The latest mascara that has found a spot in my makeup bag and passed that first time test is the CoverGirl Flamed Up Mega Curl Mascara from the Capitol Collection, inspired by The Hunger Games: Catching Fire . This mascara has the Curl Igniter Brush and claims to deliver volume and curl for a full lash look. It was love at first swipe and the only downside to this new love is that the mascara was from a limited edition release.
The look of the mascara is really cute, and as with everything in the Capitol Collection, it really does relate to the series. I can totally see why this mascara fits in, with the flame decorations on the tube.
The Curl Igniter Brush is pretty thick and has a slight curve. There are lots of bristles and they seem to get every lash. I have the mascara in the shade 800 Very Black Blaze and it really does make my lashes look super dark. I find that adds definition so between the brush and the dark formula this mascara really coats my lashes nicely.
