It’s described on the Pantone website as an elegant and rich hue, with a sophisticated natural earthiness. I know it’s just a colour but I really do believe all those sentiments. Looking at the photo story on the Pantone website it shows Marsala in so many ways, including clothing, food, and kitchen decor. I see the warmth and elegance in the photos and I am definitely convinced that this was the right pick for Color of The year for 2015.

I have never before been so excited about a Pantone pick. In previous years I like the colours but couldn’t see myself wearing or using them in any way, but with Marsala I am already digging through my lipstick drawer to find my best Marsala matches!

  1. Haha, I’ve been keeping up with the trend as well! Personally I see it as a very tricky color to wear, unless you put it on your nails only…but it looks very hot and vibrant. Isn’t it?
