Spring is finally here and I have been spending more time outside and less time at my laptop. I love getting some fresh air but sometimes I fall behind on my beaut blogging, and maybe you do to. I wanted to share the latest posts and reviews that you may have missed over the last week or two. Check them out!
Hello long lashes! I recently tried the new Make Up For Ever Smoky Stretch Mascara and it really delivers on the stretch factor. My lashes are long, dark, and totally defined. I love how this mascara goes on smoothly and the formula is amazing!
Make Up For Ever Smoky Stretch Mascara
The brush is so tiny and the bristles catch every singe lash so you get a great coat of coverage in one layer. I loved this mascara from the second I saw the brush, and it really gave me gorgeous lashes.
Some of you may know by now how amazing ImPress Press On Manicures are. These are some seriously simple press on nails that last for a full week, stay shiny the whole time, and only take minutes to apply.
Over on Pretty Chatty, I shared my obsession for these pretty ImPress nails, so go check out the post for a full review on how great these nails are. I applied them last Friday and they are still on!
Spring is coming (slowly but surely) and I am really excited about the new beauty launches it brings. With warmer weather we tend to reach for brighter and lighter colours, and I love the new nail polish shades that are hitting the shelves for next season.
To me, Spring reminds me of grass, blue skies, and bright flowers. The Body Shop Colour Crush nail polish totally embodies that image and brings to life some bold Spring shades that I can’t wait to wear.
The Body Shop Colour Crush Nail Polish in Mad About Blue, Apricot Kiss, and Sunny Affair
From a pop of yellow to a range of blues, the new nail polish line has a range of upbeat shades that will be great for Spring. As with the other Colour Crush polishes I’ve tried, the formula is smooth and flawless. It applies easily and dries quickly, and gives a great shine even without a topcoat. Most shades are pretty opaque and two coats will do just fine.
I have three pretty shades to show you that are just perfect for Spring. Mad About Blue is a gorgeous bold blue shade that looks like an ocean. It’s bright and has a pop of colour but it still looks chic. Apricot Kiss is a medium to light orange hue, and it hits the spot right in between subtlety and notice me. Sunny Affair is a bold yellow with little flecks of golden shimmer. It’s a bright one and it will definitely draw attention.
You can see all of the Colour Crush polishes here at thebodyshop.ca and pick your perfect Spring shade!
If you answered yes to these questions then I have the perfect hair oil for you.
The Organix Nourishing Coconut Oil has been my miracle product this winter. With the cold weather and crazy wind, I find my hair gets dry and frizzy the minute I step outside. My split ends get worse and the wear and tear on my strands causes some serious damage. I haven’t yet ventured into the world of hair masks, but hair oil is my new best friend.
Sometimes hair oil can be a total disaster, like last week when I tried a really thick one that left my hair greasy and gross. Luckily my go-to oil is a lot lighter and I never overdo it.
Organix Nourishing Coconut Oil
The Organix Nourishing Coconut Oil is light and easy to apply, and doesn’t leave my hair looking stringy, greasy, or wet. I spray about 5 pumps into my palm and ten rub my hands together and through my hair. I try to give some extra attention to the ends. I happen to love coconut scents so the refreshing smell of this is perfect for me. It reminds me of being on a tropical vacation or sitting on a beach with a Pina Colada in hand.
This hair oil smells incredible (if you like coconut) and works like a charm. It smoothes my frizz, fights my dry ends, but doesn’t weigh down my hair or make it look oily at all. It’s the perfect combination and has become my go-to hair product this season.
I recently did a swap with my wonderful new friend, Vanessa, who is living in Hong Kong right now. She told me about some really neat Maybelline products and was kind enough to send me some really cool things to blog about. One of the most interesting things Vanessa told me about were the Maybelline Asia Baby Lips, which are totally different than the ones we have in North America.
Maybelline Asia Baby Lips in Watermelon Smooth and Berry Crush
These Maybelline Baby Lips have completely different packaging than the ones in Canada. The Asian ones are packaged like regular chapstick tubes, instead of the bigger cylinder shaped ones. They also have different colours and flavours, like these two Vanessa sent me, Watermelon Smooth and Berry Crush.
Aside from the different look, these were pretty similar to the Baby Lips I know and love. The formula was soft and smooth, and the colour was light enough for everyday use but can be layered for a more opaque look. The Berry one was more pigmented and is a shade I can see myself wearing frequently.
I love that I have these unique Baby Lips to join my ever-growing collection. They’re cute and convenient to keep in my purse, and have a light sweet scent.
