Three Pretty Nail Polish Shades For Spring

Spring is coming (slowly but surely) and I am really excited about the new beauty launches it brings. With warmer weather we tend to reach for brighter and lighter colours, and I love the new nail polish shades that are hitting the shelves for next season.

To me, Spring reminds me of grass, blue skies, and bright flowers. The Body Shop Colour Crush nail polish totally embodies that image and brings to life some bold Spring shades that I can’t wait to wear.

From a pop of yellow to a range of blues, the new nail polish line has a range of upbeat shades that will be great for Spring. As with the other Colour Crush polishes I’ve tried, the formula is smooth and flawless. It applies easily and dries quickly, and gives a great shine even without a topcoat. Most shades are pretty opaque and two coats will do just fine.

I have three pretty shades to show you that are just perfect for Spring. Mad About Blue is a gorgeous bold blue shade that looks like an ocean. It’s bright and has a pop of colour but it still looks chic. Apricot Kiss is a medium to light orange hue, and it hits the spot right in between subtlety and notice me. Sunny Affair is a bold yellow with little flecks of golden shimmer. It’s a bright one and it will definitely draw attention.

You can see all of the Colour Crush polishes here at thebodyshop.ca and pick your perfect Spring shade!

Add Some Sparkle to the Holiday Season With Revlon

One of my favourite things about the holiday season is the added sparkle to everything. From decorations to part dresses everything gets a little boost of bling this season, and your makeup should be no different. Revlon has an awesome limited edition line of sparkly eye shadows and liners to create eye-catching looks.

The limited edition Revlon Photoready Eye Art Lid + Line + Lash is a dual-ended product with a super sparkly liner matched with a creamy shadow. There are 10 colour duos to choose from and they all pack a punch of glitter and pigmented shadows. The shades I have are Fuchsia Flash and Cobalt Crystal.

The shadow end of the tube is a creamy formula that is easy to blend and very opaque. Many of the shades are frosty and metallic looking. The liner side is a glitter formula in a gel base, with a skinny brush for easy application. The pairs go well together but can also be mixed, matched, or worn individually.

Both ends of the product are super easy to apply and glide on really smoothly. They have great colour choices and all of them are bold and bright. I love that the glitter can be layered for lots of sparkle, or lightly applied for a more spread out sparkly look. The liner side can be used as a thin line of glitter or blended for all over sparkle. It can even be applied to lashes for something really special.

The shadows have a great formula and last for quite a long time. I didn’t have any problems with creasing or flaking when I wore the shadow. I love that the duos are paired together so I can grab one product and know that it will work well together and create a complete look. Although the shades are pretty bold and bright, and maybe not for everyday wear, they are awesome for a special night out or a holiday event and I will definitely be reaching for them this season!

Make Up For Ever Artist Shadow

These are by far the best eye shadows I have ever tried in my entire life. I cannot rave enough about how phenomenal they feel and how well they apply. The Make Up For Ever Artist Shadows are like none that I have ever had before, and I cannot believe what I was missing all this time.

These shadows are made with gel-powder formula which offers intense colour payoff and some serious pigment. They come in a variety of finishes, including matte, metallic, satin, and iridescent. They glide on so smoothly and are able to be blended, layered, and so much more.

In honour of Make Up For Ever’s 30th Anniversary the brand has released a new “Artist Shadow” Eye Shadow Collection, which has 210 new shadows in 5 different finishes. With the amount of colour options here there is no way you won’t find one (or ten) that catch your eye!

The two shadows I have to show you today are I-212 Periwinkle, an iridescent light blue that is super bold and beautiful, and ME-224 Navy Blue, a metallic dark blue with a subtle shimmer. Both of these blue shadows are seriously stunning, and although the colours are gorgeous it’s the formula that has me head over heels. The feel of these shadows is so lightweight and soft, and the way they glide right onto my skin in amazing. You can tell that these shadows are extremely high quality, and at $24 each it’s no wonder why.

Check out the rest of the shadows over at sephora.ca and excuse me while I go daydream about which ones I will be buying. The Make Up For Ever Artist Shadows are by far the best eye shadows I have ever used and I highly recommend everyone splurging on at least one of these incredible shadows.

If that wasn’t enough to catch your interest, then take a look at the gorgeous Fall colour choices. All of these shades are so rich and perfectly fitting to the sweater-weather season.

The six shades are shown below, from left to right: Indigo Frock, Locket Love, Crimson Sash, Rose Brocade, Fine Vermilion, and Plum Paisley.

Some of the most stunning ones are actually quite unique, such as Locket Love, a super pale gold metallic. It was pretty light and it took three coats for a good opacity, but it’s unlike any other polish I own.. I own over 500 bottles so that’s kind of a big deal! Locket Love is flashy and fashionable, and perfect for any day when you need a little extra bling.

Crimson Sash is a shimmery dark red that just scream holidays and hot chocolate. It’s smooth and luxurious and definitely a staple shade to have in the cold weather. Indigo Frock is just as smooth and stunning. It’s a very dark blue that verges on grey/black, and it looks like your favourite pair of dark jeans just melted into one amazing bottle of polish.

Although I’ve been obsessing over those three shades the three remaining ones (Fine Vermilion, Rose Brocade, and Plum Paisley) are just as amazing. Each of these six shades is a Fall classic and will be perfect to pair with a cozy sweater and boots. The CND Modern Folklore Collection for Fall 2014 hit the nail on the head and delivered six pretty polishes you won’t want to miss!

First up is the CoverGirl Ink It! by Perfect Point Plus, $9.99. These liners come in 6 shades that can create a variety of looks. I love the Aquamarine Ink and Golden Ink shades for a bright pop of colour with my brown eyes. You don’t need to sharpen these liners and they glide on in a smooth motion. They also last for hours and are waterproof so you don’t need to worry about them once you apply!
The second one is the new Rimmel London ScandalEyes Thick & Thin Liner, $7.99. This liner is bold and dramatic, with a slanted tip that allows you to draw thick or thin lines. The precision, control, and smooth formula make this liner a winner all around, but the real sellign factor for me is the dual-sized tip. Having the choice of a thick line or thin one in a signle product makes packing my makeup bag super easy!
