Rimmel London Glam Eyes HD 5 Colour Eye Shadow

I’ve been really into neutral eye shadow lately and recently found a great eye shadow palette that has a beautiful range of beige, bronze, and brown shades that work for everyday. The Rimmel London Glam Eyes HD 5 Colour Eye Shadow palette in 027 Brick Lane is the perfect combination of shimmer neutral shadows.

There are 5 eye shadows in this palette and they are all great basics. The bottom right shade is perfect for highlighting under the brow, and the darkest one in the upper left is great to smudge in the crease or along the lash line. I’ve been having fun experimenting with these shadows for some simple every day looks.

Each of the 5 shades has a lot of shimmer and medium opacity. They can be built up for more pigment or applied lightly for a more sheer look. With these 5 shadows there are a lot of pretty possibilities, so check it out if you haven’t yet.

Maybelline New York The Nudes Palette

You’ve probably heard about the recent launch of Maybelline New York The Nudes, a beautiful eye shadow palette full of pretty neutral shades. This palette can rival the iconic Urban Decay Naked palette and is way more affordable. With every nude shade you’ll need this season, The Nudes packs a lot of punch at an affordable price!

Maybelline New York The Nudes palette has 12 stunning shades, ranging from basic beige, shimmery bronze, chocolate brown, and everything in between. The back of the palette claims it can create 13 looks but I definitely think you can mix and match even more! These shades are perfect for every day looks but you can also use it for a sexy smokey eye.

Two Great Eye Shadows From The Body Shop

These two eye shadows are my favourite shades from The Body Shop Colour Crush Eye Shadow line. The shades are 210 Bronze Bliss and 415 Midnight Flirt. They both have a bit of shimmer, lots of pigment, and gorgeous colour that works for day and night!

The Body Shop Colour Crush Eye Shadows are bold colours with a silky texture. They can be used wet or dry, and have either a pearlescent or matte finish depending on the shade. They cost $10 each but sometimes there are sales or promotions so keep an eye out for deals! These shadows would make great stocking stuffers too.

Bronze Bliss is a really bright and bold shimmery gold shade. It has a ton of pigment and a great finish. It looks like liquid bronze and has an awesome metallic look that would be the perfect accent for a holiday beauty look. I love how intense it is and can see this shadow being great for and all-over shade, or for an accent shade with lots of browns and neutral shadows.

Midnight Flirt is an indigo grey shade with a little less shimmer. It still has a metallic look to it, but more muted and neutral. It would be great for a smoky eye look and I think it works really well with my brown eyes. It looks a little like denim in the packaging, with a blue hint, but the shadow shows up with more of a purple hint to it on my skin.

The line of shadows from The Body Shop has a ton of other great shades, and now that I know how good the formula is on these two I am definitely going to be checking out some other shadows. They’re pigmented with bold colours, silky smooth to apply, and have a really pretty range of shades. Revlon PhotoReady Eye Art Lid + Line + Lash in Cobalt Crystal and Fuchsia Flash

Add Some Sparkle to the Holiday Season With Revlon

One of my favourite things about the holiday season is the added sparkle to everything. From decorations to part dresses everything gets a little boost of bling this season, and your makeup should be no different. Revlon has an awesome limited edition line of sparkly eye shadows and liners to create eye-catching looks.

The limited edition Revlon Photoready Eye Art Lid + Line + Lash is a dual-ended product with a super sparkly liner matched with a creamy shadow. There are 10 colour duos to choose from and they all pack a punch of glitter and pigmented shadows. The shades I have are Fuchsia Flash and Cobalt Crystal.

The shadow end of the tube is a creamy formula that is easy to blend and very opaque. Many of the shades are frosty and metallic looking. The liner side is a glitter formula in a gel base, with a skinny brush for easy application. The pairs go well together but can also be mixed, matched, or worn individually.

Both ends of the product are super easy to apply and glide on really smoothly. They have great colour choices and all of them are bold and bright. I love that the glitter can be layered for lots of sparkle, or lightly applied for a more spread out sparkly look. The liner side can be used as a thin line of glitter or blended for all over sparkle. It can even be applied to lashes for something really special.

The shadows have a great formula and last for quite a long time. I didn’t have any problems with creasing or flaking when I wore the shadow. I love that the duos are paired together so I can grab one product and know that it will work well together and create a complete look. Although the shades are pretty bold and bright, and maybe not for everyday wear, they are awesome for a special night out or a holiday event and I will definitely be reaching for them this season!

Essence How To Make Nude Eyes Make-Up Box

Check Out The Cute New Essence How To Make Nude Eyes Make-Up Box

I have the cutest new make-up box to show you! It’s the new Essence How To Make Nude Eyes palette and it has six great neutral eye shadows, a dual-ended sponge applicator, and two ‘get the look’ cards. This eye shadow palette is absolutely adorable and costs only $10!

Essence is such a cute brand and all of their items are packaged so pretty. They also are super affordable so it’s a great brand to get into if you’re looking for some new cosmetics.

The six shadows in the How To Make Nude Eyes box are actually quite varied, which is nice for nude shades. I tend to find nude palettes are typically too similar in shadow colours but this one had a nice range.

Eye Light Beige is a light and shimmer champagne colour. Go For Gold is a medium toned warm gold shadow with shimmer. An Eye On Apricot is a peach-hued neutral with the least amount of shimmer of the six. All About Nude is a medium brown tone with a hint of grey or purple to it. Nude Night Out is the darkest of the six and it’s a deep chocolate brown shimmer. Team Nude is a light/medium brown that seems to be the most basic shadow of the six.

All of the shadows apply smoothly and have nice pigmentation. They all have shimmer, which I like, and they have quite a bit of dimension to them. They blend well and can be layered.

Essence 3D Eye Shadow Packs a Lot of Shimmer

Recently I was the lucky winner of a generous giveaway on Batting a Lash, which is a great beauty blog that just celebrated 5 years of blogging! Congrats on the milestone Jill!

Part of my awesome prize were these two Essence 3D Eyeshadow duos, which I have never tried before. The amount of shimmer in these is crazy, I can totally see why they get their 3D name. These look like something from outer space with the sparkly formula and intense shimmer.

The pink duo is 03 Irresistible First Love and the brown duo is 09 Irresistible Chocolates. Both duos are fairly light in colour but when you apply the shadow you can build it up and layer it for a more opaque look. I can see both of these being used individually or with other shadows to create a complex shimmery look. I will definitely be trying out some cool combinations with these.

At first I thought the shadows might be a little on the sheer side but I was pleasantly surprised to see how opaque the colour is. It’s hard tot ell in photos because of the shimmer but all of my swatches are very pigmented. Overall these eyeshadow duos were a really exciting thing to find in my prize pack, since I’ve seen them on shelves a million times but never tried them out for myself. Thanks again Jill!

Have you guys tried the Essence 3D Eyeshadow duos?
