Did you watch The Bachelor this season? I sure did! I love romance and the drama in the house.
Britt Nilsson from The Bachelor
This season a lot of the drama surrounded Britt, who may or may not become The Bachelorette in a few weeks. Although her fake tears and dramatic exit got a lot of attention, there was one other thing that Britt was known for. That hot pink lipstick!
I recently did a swap with my wonderful new friend, Vanessa, who is living in Hong Kong right now. She told me about some really neat Maybelline products and was kind enough to send me some really cool things to blog about. One of the most interesting things Vanessa told me about were the Maybelline Asia Baby Lips, which are totally different than the ones we have in North America.
Maybelline Asia Baby Lips in Watermelon Smooth and Berry Crush
These Maybelline Baby Lips have completely different packaging than the ones in Canada. The Asian ones are packaged like regular chapstick tubes, instead of the bigger cylinder shaped ones. They also have different colours and flavours, like these two Vanessa sent me, Watermelon Smooth and Berry Crush.
Aside from the different look, these were pretty similar to the Baby Lips I know and love. The formula was soft and smooth, and the colour was light enough for everyday use but can be layered for a more opaque look. The Berry one was more pigmented and is a shade I can see myself wearing frequently.
I love that I have these unique Baby Lips to join my ever-growing collection. They’re cute and convenient to keep in my purse, and have a light sweet scent.
These are the cutest! Have you seen the Obsessive Compulsive Cosmetics Stained Gloss Test Tubes? They are mini lip stains that have serious staying power and bold, bright shades! The OCC Stained Glosses are high-pigment stains that are a little wet and sticky to apply but once they dry they’re like paint. They stick to lips and deliver opaque colour and a nice gloss.

The shades I’m showing you are Hedonist, a pale pink, New Wave, the hot pink, and Jealous, a bold classic red. As you can see they are all super glossy and very opaque. These are bold shades that stand out and make your lips the centre of attention.

Just in time for Valentine’s Day! The recent launch of The Body Shop Lip & Cheek Velvet Stick is the perfect addition to any romantic beauty look this weekend. These dual purpose sticks are smooth, soft, and deliver pretty shades that you can use for blush or lip colour!
The Body Shop Lip and Cheek Velvet Sticks
The Body Shop Lip & Cheek Velvet Sticks are thick crayon-like tubes, similar to Clinique Chubby Sticks. They have a matte finish and come in a range of pretty petal-like shades. There is a light floral scent which I actually liked. I love how the formula feels. It’s smooth, soft, and light. It doesn’t feel sticky or drying on my lips, and it lasted for quite a while. I got a really feminine flush of colour in just one quick swipe, and the large crayon shape made it easy to apply.
These sticks are perfect for Spring since you can layer them to get a more opaque colour, or lightly apply them and blend for a flush of colour. I love products that work for lips and cheeks, and these offer a great blush and great matte lip crayon all in one. You can read more about them here at thebodyshop.ca.

With an incredible formula and fabulous colour, this lipstick is reason alone to buy the duo. The lip liner adds a perfect finishing touch and ensures that the pretty red lipstick will stay in place. I can see this lipstick becoming a staple in my makeup kit for sure. It’s no wonder this is called the Best Selling Red Lip Duo!
This is my very first NYX lipstick and I am really excited about it. I love matte lipsticks and bold colours, and after reading tons of online reviews I had heard that NYX makes an amazing line of matte lipsticks. With that knowledge in mind, and the brand new Rexall in my work building, it seemed like the perfect time to make the plunge and purchase my first NYX Matte Lipstick.
NYX Matte Lipstick in Angel
There were a ton of shades to choose from and I spent the better part of my lunch hour trying to pick the best one for me. I ended up settling on shade MLS 13, called Angel, and decided that if I love the lipstick I can get another shade (or three) in a few weeks.
Well it looks like I will be getting a few more shades soon because I did love the lipstick! It is super pigmented, smooth to apply, and delivers and amazing matte look. The formula is creamy and slides on nicely, and isn’t too thick or drying like some matte lippies are. This one is just lovely and it lasted for about 4-6 hours of wear. I didn’t find it too drying, however I do apply a clear balm underneath my lipstick so that might have contributed. It didn’t seem to crack or flake very much for the first few hours, but after about 4 hours and some eating/drinking I did see a few patches.
That isn’t enough to deter me from this lipstick though. Getting at least 4 hours of a bold pigmented colour, and a chic matte look, for under $10 is worth it to me. I’m glad I finally got around to trying a NYX lipstick and I will definitely be adding more to my collection. worth it to me.
