The styles shown above are Sweet Pea, Treasure Island, and Dazzle Me.

I love using the ImPress Press-On Nails when I have a bad break or don’t have time for my own nail art. They only take a few minutes to apply and they last a full 7 days for me. There are tons of different styles, plain colours and patterns. They also come in a variety of lengths so you can find your best fit. You can read my previous post on how to apply them and find your best size here.

These Halloween ones are really cute and have some sweet designs that I could never draw myself. There are also three other designs that are a bit spookier. I snapped a few pictures on my cell phone from the set I was wearing the other day. They were a little too long for my taste so I trimmed and filed them after I applied them.

NOTD: Thanksgiving Turkey Nail Art

Happy Thanksgiving weekend to all my Canadian readers! I hope you’re spending the weekend enjoying some delicious food and fun times with your family and friends.

You might not know this about me. but I’m a vegetarian, so these nails are the closet I get to a turkey this season. They’re pretty cute  and for somebody who isn’t very artistic, I think they turned out pretty well.

For the base colours I used a variety of Sally Hansen Insta-Dri nail polishes. These are great for quick drying colours that are really opaque and bold. The shades I used are Sizzlin’ Saffron (yellow), Pumpkin Queen (orange), Surspice! (red), OMGhost (white), and Moracc-go (brown). I used each of these as a base for one of the nails and then layered the solid colours with a subtle gold glitter.

For the turkey nail I used Misa Nail Art Pens to make the turkey feathers. The two shades I used were 01 Crazy For Bananas for the yellow and 17 Gold Rush for the gold. Once I did a few swipes of the feathers I let that dry. Then I used an eraser on the back of a pencil, dipped in the Sally Hansen Insta-Dri brown shade to create the turkey body. When the body was dry I used a dotting tool in both black and white for the eyes, and orange for the beak.

He’s pretty cute if I do say so myself. He has a cartoon-like look and I know my little cousins will love him when I see them for Thanksgiving. This is the only nail art I’ve ever done for Thanksgiving, but now it got me pretty excited to look for more ideas for next year.

What do you guys think of these turkey nails?

A fast and fashionable manicure in minutes: ImPress Press-On Manicure review

The ImPress Press-On Manicure by Broadway Nails is a total lifesaver and great go-to solution for a fast and fashionable manicure in minutes. These nails are no-fail perfect fixes for when I need an instant manicure. They come in a huge range of colours and patterns, with classic shades, funky nail art, and everything in between. They take only a matter of minutes to apply and last up to a week with no chipping or fading.

For a girl who owns hundreds of bottles of nail polish you might wonder why I would ever use fake nails, but the truth is sometimes they’re a real life saver for me. If I have a big event coming up or my nails are broken and in bad shape, a quick-fix of fake nails is the perfect cover-up. If I break one nail I usually try to ti hide it with a Band-Aid but it if I have two or more that get too short I usually opt for a package of the ImPress Press-On Manicure to save the day.

These nails don’t require any glue so they don’t damage your nails. I would never get fake nails done at a salon but with these there is no concern about ruining my real nails. They come in an adorable package that looks like a nail polish bottle and offer 24 nails (12 sizes) so it’s easy to find a fit.

They have plastic tabs which peel off to reveal the sticky layer under the nail, and with a little bit of pressure you can just press them onto the nail of your choice. Simple and super quick! They really do last quite a while and I have always gotten a week or wear out of them. Sometimes I paint over them if I get bored of the colour, but they last for days without any wear and tear!

Pro Tip: Each nail has a number on the underside to tell you the size – I keep a note in my phone with my sizes for each finger so it saves me time whenever I want to apply!

Happy Valentine’s Day!

I’m one of those girls who loves this holiday because it features a lot of pink, and I love pink. Skip the roses ans chocolate but another excuse for more pink in my life – count me in! One more pink thing I added to my day today were these adorable Valentine’s Day nails that I did.

To get these super sweet nails I sponged on a gradient base with two shades of pink and white. Then I stamped the heart pattern over the gradient with Essie Licorice using the Bundle Monster image plate BM-317. The polishes I used for the gradient were China Glaze Dance Baby (light pink) and Fuchsia Fanatic (dark pink) from the Electropop collection a few summers back, used Sally Hansen White Out.

I think these nails look a little bit like candy hearts. They definitely fit the Valentine’s Day theme and are totally adorable. They didn’t even take too long to do! I have been having a serious gradient nail colour phase so this fits right in with that. The heart stamp is just cute enough to be pretty, but not too over the top. I really like these nails the more I look at them and don’t think I’ll be taking them off anytime soon.

The Perfect Fit For A New Year’s Eve Manicure Featuring Essence Effect Nails

3D black and silver glitter pieces layered over the perfect black nail polish. The glitter is coincidentally called 04 Tonight at Midnight. Hello perfect New Year’s Eve manicure, am I right?

Essence is a cute Eurpoean cosmetics brand that has slowly drifted into Canada in the last few years. They have really cheap items that are actually pretty good quality. There are cosmetic items as well as nail polish and nail art products. Nothing has quite taken my interest as much as the most recent item I purchased, which is the Essence Effect Nails 3D Glitter. The names are a little confusing and I think that has something to do with translating the words to English.

Anyways, back on track, if the name Tonight at Midnight didn’t already seal in the fact that this was the perfect New Year;s Eve mani, then the stunning sparkle will surely convince you.

The loose glitter comes in a cute little pot with a flip top lid. The instructions say to pour the glitter into the lid of the pot.  The base colour I used was Essie Licorice (sidenote: this is the absolute best black nail polish out there) and I followed the instructions on the box. While the polish was wet I dipped my nail into the loose glitter in the lid of the pot. After a moment I gently tapped it off so the excess would be removed and fall back into the lid. Here’s a tip – when you’re done you can pop off the lid of the glitter and pour the leftover back into the pot.

I let the glitter dry on my nails for a while and sealed in it with a thick top coat. My nails sparkle so much and I cannot imagine a more suitable manicure for New Year’s Eve. The glitter is called Tonight at Midnight so clearly this was meant to be.

If you’re looking into loose glitter for your nails this was a super easy and extremely affordable option. I will definitely be looking at the other shades next time I pass an Essence display at the drugstore.
