Three Pretty Nail Polish Shades For Spring

Spring is coming (slowly but surely) and I am really excited about the new beauty launches it brings. With warmer weather we tend to reach for brighter and lighter colours, and I love the new nail polish shades that are hitting the shelves for next season.

To me, Spring reminds me of grass, blue skies, and bright flowers. The Body Shop Colour Crush nail polish totally embodies that image and brings to life some bold Spring shades that I can’t wait to wear.

From a pop of yellow to a range of blues, the new nail polish line has a range of upbeat shades that will be great for Spring. As with the other Colour Crush polishes I’ve tried, the formula is smooth and flawless. It applies easily and dries quickly, and gives a great shine even without a topcoat. Most shades are pretty opaque and two coats will do just fine.

I have three pretty shades to show you that are just perfect for Spring. Mad About Blue is a gorgeous bold blue shade that looks like an ocean. It’s bright and has a pop of colour but it still looks chic. Apricot Kiss is a medium to light orange hue, and it hits the spot right in between subtlety and notice me. Sunny Affair is a bold yellow with little flecks of golden shimmer. It’s a bright one and it will definitely draw attention.

You can see all of the Colour Crush polishes here at and pick your perfect Spring shade!

The Body Shop Limited Edition Smoky Poppy Scent

Okay I have to admit when I first heard about the new scent from The Body Shop I was a little unsure. What exactly does a poppy smell like? Or a smoky one? Since I couldn’t imagine it myself I knew I had to check out The Body Shop Smoky Poppy scent.

The Body Shop Smoky Poppy Limited Edition Scent

The Body Shop Smoky Poppy Limited Edition Scent

This is a limited edition scent and is available in all of the classic products, including Body Butter, Shower Gel, Body Scrub, and more. The Body Shop explains the scent as ‘Enriched with real, hand-picked poppy flowers from the Ankara region of Turkey. This sensual and indulgent range is infused with a seductive, euphoric scent that will leave you longing for more.” You can read more about the new scent here at and check out the full range of products.

Although that seemed confusing at first it actually hits the spot just right. The scent is soft, warm, and calming to me. I liked the smell of it at first but as time went on and I kept wearing it I ended up really liking it, and perhaps even loving it. It has a subtle baby-powder type of scent, with a real softness and light tone. It’s feminine and delicate but still keeps it scent for a long time. It definitely has a romantic hint to it and I can totally agree with the seductive and indulgent description. It reminds me of the Vera Wang Princess perfume, which is a classic feminine scent.

The Body Butter is super moisturizing and creamy, and I love putting it on before bed. It’s soothing, smooth, and super softening. I love all Body Butters but this one has a really gentle feel to it. The Shower Gel is great for a relaxing and calming experience, and overall every product in this line is really great.

If you haven’t checked out this new scent you definitely should, since it is limited edition it won’t be around forever!

The Body Shop Lip and Cheek Velvet Sticks

Just in time for Valentine’s Day! The recent launch of The Body Shop Lip & Cheek Velvet Stick is the perfect addition to any romantic beauty look this weekend. These dual purpose sticks are smooth, soft, and deliver pretty shades that you can use for blush or lip colour!

The Body Shop Lip & Cheek Velvet Sticks are thick crayon-like tubes, similar to Clinique Chubby Sticks. They have a matte finish and come in a range of pretty petal-like shades. There is a light floral scent which I actually liked. I love how the formula feels. It’s smooth, soft, and light. It doesn’t feel sticky or drying on my lips, and it lasted for quite a while. I got a really feminine flush of colour in just one quick swipe, and the large crayon shape made it easy to apply.

These sticks are perfect for Spring since you can layer them to get a more opaque colour, or lightly apply them and blend for a flush of colour. I love products that work for lips and cheeks, and these offer a great blush and great matte lip crayon all in one. You can read more about them here at

Obsessed: The Body Shop Body Butter

I think I have an addiction. In the past two months I’ve gone through four containers of body butter and am halfway through a fifth one now. Three of them were the smaller size, but still that is a lot of body butter for one person. I’m clearly obsessed with The Body Shop Body Butter and I just can’t get enough!

The scents that I’ve been using lately are the Shea, Wild Argan Oil, and Glazed Apple. Currently I’m halfway through a large Satsuma one, and I finished off another small Wild Argan Oil but left the container at my boyfriend’s house. I just can’t get enough of these body butters and really love how soft they leave my skin.

I’ve actually talked about these before because they’re just that great. I told you about my love of the limited edition Glazed Apple scent here, and talked about the Wild Argan Oil scent here. The scents are light and lovely, not too strong or too sweet. That last nicely throughout the day and aren’t overpowering to wear all over your body.

The formula is amazing, and if you haven’t tried a body butter yet then I seriously suggest you do so right away. They’re super creamy, smooth, and so moisturizing. I apply in the morning and by afternoon and evening I am still surprised at how soft my skin is. They rub in really nicely and aren’t sticky at all. You can check out all of the scents at and see which body butter you like best.

I love a lot of The Body Shop products but body butters are by far my favourite. After going through almost five in just two months I definitely think I need to stock up next time I’m out!

Two Great Eye Shadows From The Body Shop

These two eye shadows are my favourite shades from The Body Shop Colour Crush Eye Shadow line. The shades are 210 Bronze Bliss and 415 Midnight Flirt. They both have a bit of shimmer, lots of pigment, and gorgeous colour that works for day and night!

The Body Shop Colour Crush Eye Shadows are bold colours with a silky texture. They can be used wet or dry, and have either a pearlescent or matte finish depending on the shade. They cost $10 each but sometimes there are sales or promotions so keep an eye out for deals! These shadows would make great stocking stuffers too.

Bronze Bliss is a really bright and bold shimmery gold shade. It has a ton of pigment and a great finish. It looks like liquid bronze and has an awesome metallic look that would be the perfect accent for a holiday beauty look. I love how intense it is and can see this shadow being great for and all-over shade, or for an accent shade with lots of browns and neutral shadows.

Midnight Flirt is an indigo grey shade with a little less shimmer. It still has a metallic look to it, but more muted and neutral. It would be great for a smoky eye look and I think it works really well with my brown eyes. It looks a little like denim in the packaging, with a blue hint, but the shadow shows up with more of a purple hint to it on my skin.

The line of shadows from The Body Shop has a ton of other great shades, and now that I know how good the formula is on these two I am definitely going to be checking out some other shadows. They’re pigmented with bold colours, silky smooth to apply, and have a really pretty range of shades. If you’re looking for some new shadows this season then be sure to check out The Body Shop Colour Crush Eye Shadows, which you can find online here at!
